City and state conduct food inspections

The City of Warren and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture have published results of food inspections conducted recently.

Six-month inspections have been completed for the following establishments in the City of Warren:

Elk’s Club, Hickory St. and Fourth Ave., one non-critical violation kitchen floor needs cleaned around and under appliances.

5th Ave. Cake Works, 211 1/2 Fifth Ave., one critical violation staff not Servsafe certified.

Snuffy’s Cafe, 208 Hickory St., one non-critical violation staff not wearing hair restraints in kitchen area (corrected on site).

Christie’s Downtown Pub & Grill, 229 1/2 Pennsylvania Ave. W., no violations.

Fat Daddy’s, 601 Pennsylvania Ave. E., two critical violations staff hand washing station not properly used, freezer not at proper cold holding temperature (all food transferred to another working freezer), one non-critical violation thermometers not provided in all appliances.

Family Dollar, 1036 Pennsylvania Ave. W., no violations.

The following inspections were conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture:

Kwik Fill, 4170 Market St., no violations.

Pleasant VFD, 40 Fuller Ave., no violations.

Russell Elementary School, 6820 Market St., Russell, one violation Working container (Ken’s Ranch Dressing, 1 Gallon Container) in warewashing area, used for storing dish soap taken from bulk supplies, was not marked with the common name of the chemical. Kitchen staff marked the container with the proper contents during the inspection.

Tidioute Area VFD, 244 Main St., Tidioute, no violations.

Town ‘N Country Food Center, 19 Main St., Sugar Grove, three violations consumer self service jars of beef jerky not provided with suitable utensils or dispensing method to prevent contamination, correct immediately, there is still a heavy build up of dust on the back fins of the condenser unit in walk-in cooler, FEC for Patricia Phillips expired on 10/8/13. Advised PIC that the facility has 90 days from the date of expiration / loss to replace the certified food employee.
