DAC to lunch

Kanoagoa Chapter, Daughters of the American Colonists, will have its annual Christmas luncheon at noon Thursday, Dec. 5, at Warren Holiday Inn.

Sale Saturday

Chandlers Valley United Methodist Church, 9215 Jackson Run Rd., will have a Rummage, Bake, Food and Gift Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.

Men to breakfast

A men’s breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at North Warren Presbyterian Church. The breakfast is open to all men of the community, regardless of their faith. Cost is a donation of $3 for breakfast cooked by men from the community. All men are welcome.

Board to meet

Experience, Inc., will hold its monthly board of directors meeting at noon Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the board room at the Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., Warren.

Aurora Borealis

Visit the Warren Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. as a character dressed as Aurora Borealis (the northern lights) entertains children with Christmas stories, songs, and crafts in the Slater Room on the third floor. Children can enjoy holiday snacks while they work on their crafts. This program is geared towards ages 3 to 8 but all are welcome. Preregistration required as attendance is limited. Registration sheet is available next to the staff computer in the Children’s Department, or call 723-4650 to leave a message for Children’s Librarian Susan Slater.

Mrs. Claus to visit

Stop by Warren Public Library Children’s Department after school on Tuesday, Dec. 17, to enjoy holiday stories, songs, and crafts with Mrs. Claus. This program will start at 3:45 p.m. Registration is appreciated, but not mandatory. Registration sheet is available next to the staff computer in the Children’s Department, or call 723-4650 to leave a message for Children’s Librarian Susan Slater.

MS Support offered

The Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will have its annual Christmas dinner at First United Methodist Church in Warren on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. Reservations are needed. The event will be hosted by Doug Vaughn and Marcia Ziki, Dean Stoddard and his sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Paul Wascak and Amy Jo Ransom . Dinner will be catered by Lynda Slocum and there will be an optional $10 gift exchange. Reservations and money need to be to Ransom by Dec 3. The Eagles Auxiliary meeting planned for Dec. 3 has been canceled because of a death.

Philomel to meet

The Philomel Club of Warren will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Woman’s Club of Warren, 310 Market St. Chairperson Linda Clark Peterson will introduce “Music for the Holidays” with performers Vera Finger and the Philomel Chorus. Hostesses will be Carolyn Worley and Lisa Blair.

Hill & Dale to meet

The Hill & Dale Garden Club will have its Christmas luncheon and “Christmas Place Settings” at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Cable Hollow Church. Participants should take unwrapped prizes for Rouse Home bingo (tissues, hand lotion, books, puzzle books, old jewelry, crackers and snacks). Laurels will be awarded to Debra Robeson, Mary Lou VanDorn and Yvonne Lee. Hostesses will be Lee, chairperson, Audrey Cable, Robeson, Betty Lindell, Brenda Rodgers and Phyllis Maze. Devotions will be led by Robeson.

Auxiliary to meet

The Ladies Auxiliary to Marshall Larsen VFW Post 314, Clarendon, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the post home, Brown Ave., Clarendon. Shirley June Shirey, district president, will make her official visit at this meeting.

Advent services

The Warren Area Ministerial Association will conduct Advent community services at noon each Thursday through Advent, hosted by First United Methodist Church, 200 Market St., Warren. The Rev. Bill Hargenrader will preach this week, and the Rev. C. D. Moore will be liturgist. The half-hour service will be followed by a light lunch in Founder’s Hall for $4 per person. officers collected help defray the cost of the campground ministry at Chapman State Park and Buckaloons.
