Woman’s Club of Warren hosts program by local outdoor guide

President Judith Champlin welcomed members and guests to the Nov. 4 meeting and luncheon of the Warren Woman’s Club.

Program chairman Sioux Cole introduced Todd Bowersox, operations manager and guide for Allegheny River Fly Fishing Company. Bowersox, a Warren native and outdoor enthusiast, has returned to his hometown to offer fishing opportunities on the rivers, creeks and lakes of this area and individual and group classes on fly tying, knot tying and rod building. He also offers NSCA certified shotgun instruction including shotgun rental, ammunition and target shots.

President Champlin thanked Bowersox and Chris Mesmer and Susan Spangler, hostesses for the table decorations and for arranging the luncheon.

Announcements included a reminder about the upcoming holiday event, What’s New For the Holidays to be held Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Woman’s Club ballroom will have 30 vendors and 42 tables. Staff from A Safe Place, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, will be on hand with information. Holiday trees, decorated by Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and the Woman’s Club house, the Waters Mansion, decorated for the holidays will give everyone the holiday spirit. Tickets for the vendor show are $3 and tickets for the beef on ‘weck lunch (to be held at 11:30 a.m.) are $8.’

The Christmas Walk will be Dec. 6, with the garage sale in April and the fashion show in May.
