MS support offered

The Warren Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Slater Room (third floor) of the Warren Public Library. This will be the annual “Friends & Family” meeting during which all MS patients’ friends and family who would like to learn more about MS will learn a little of what it is like to live with MS. Light refreshments will be available, but everyone is asked to bring their own beverage of choice. Anyone affected by MS, their family, friends and anyone interested in learning more about MS are invited. There is no charge for anyone to attend. The library is handicapped accessible from the rear of the building by parking in the midtown lot. There is an elevator to the third floor. Parking passes are available at the meeting for the midtown so there is not a fee for parking. Off to Amish country

Space is still available for the Amish Christmas trip to Middlefield, Ohio, on Friday, Nov. 15, leaving the CRI parking lot at 7:30 a.m. Sponsored by the Allegheny Community Center, this trip will include coffee and cookies at Emma Miller’s House and a half dozen cookies to take home. Also delicious baked goods can be purchased in her craft and bake shop. On to the Fig Tree Bulk Food Store, Mary Yoder’s Amish Bakery and gift shop, a traditional Amish Christmas dinner with turkey and all the fixings, then on to Sunrise Farm – enjoy the greenhouse and gift shop with beautiful poinsettia and Christmas trees. Final stop will be at Buckeye Chocolate for delicious chocolate, and home by 7:30 p.m. Call the center at 723-3237 for reservations or more information.

AOC on the move

On Thursday, Nov. 7, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will do trail maintenance in the Dunham Siding area on the Allegheny National Forest. Participants will meet at the St. John’s Lutheran Church parking lot on Pleasant Drive in Warren at 9 a.m. If it rains this event will be canceled. For more information, call Earl Ross at 706-1198.

On Sunday, Nov. 10, the AOC will hike the trails at the Pfieffer Nature Preserve in Portville, N.Y. Participants will meet at Howe’s True Value at 1 p.m or at the Penn-Brad Oil Museum on Rt. 219 in Bradford at 1:45 p.m. To get to the museum: drive east on Rt. 59, in Marshburg take Rt. 770 east to Rt. 219 where you will turn left and drive north to the museum on your right. After the hike the group will drive to Sprague’s Maple Farms Restaurant in Portville for dinner. For more information, call Pat Shinaberger at 598-4590.

Class to lunch

Warren High School Class of 1951 will have lunch at noon Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Applebee’s, Warren Commons, North Warren.

Auxiliary to meet

The Ladies Auxiliary to Marshall Larsen VFW Post 314 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the post home, Brown Ave., Clarendon.

Men to breakfast

A men’s breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at North Warren Presbyterian Church. The breakfast is open to all men of the community, regardless of their faith. Cost is a donation of $3 for breakfast cooked by men from the community. All men are welcome.
