The Sheffield Volunteer Fire Department will be holding its Annual Turkey Party tonight. The doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the raffles begin at 7. There is free admission. There will also be refreshments available.
Turkeys, hams, money, steaks, and much more will be raffled off! So come on out and support your local fire department.
The menu for the week will be: Monday, chicken and biscuits with peach cobbler for dessert. Thursdays will offer hamburg sauce over egg noodles, vegetable and pumpkin bars. Friday’s buffet will feature grilled cheese and tomato soup and pudding along with other entrees. We love to have additional people for lunch, but you must make reservations 24 hours in advance just so there is plenty to go around. Lunches are $3 over 65 and $4 under 65 with a 24-hour reservation; call 968-5667.
The highlights for the week Monday start the day with a blood sugar test with Esther and Jean then stay for coffee and snacks till lunch. Don’t forget to vote on Tuesday, then visit us on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. we will hold our Advisory meeting, we welcome all suggestions and concerns for your Center. Be involved, we could not have such a active Senior Center if not for you.
We are selling ‘Community Day’ booklets for $5. The Center keeps the $5 and you get to save money holiday shopping the 15-16 at the Bon Ton. Help us make this fundraiser the best yet.
The trip to the IX Center in Cleveland’s “Christmas Connection” is filling up nicely but still room on the motor coach for you and friends to visit this amazing event for $48. Covers transportation, driver tip and admission to see Sugar Plum Village, Santaland, over 500 upscale vendors, Wine Cellar and entertainment along with a food court. We will be picking up in Sheffield, Warren and Youngsville, brochures available.
We will be hosting AARP drivers safety classes Nov. 20 and 21 with Larry Jackson at the Sheffield Hospitality Center from 5 to 9 p.m. you can save money on your car insurance by attending these classes, no testing involved. Cost will be AARP (Hartford Ins.) members $12, non-AARP $14. If you are a veteran or spouse these classes will be covered by Experience Inc. Call now for your reservation, 968-5667.
A trip to Lancaster to see the presentation of ‘Moses’ at the Sight and Sound Theater, guided tour of the Amish lands, and much more. Final plans are being made.

Indoor Garage Sale,
Church Raffle Auction
Saturday, Nov. 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Paul Center is the date for the St. Anthony’s indoor garage sale and church raffle auction. All prizes are donated by the parishioners. If you want to rent a table call the church office at 968-5915 and leave a message; cost of a table is $10.
Coffee and donuts will be available in the morning. Lunch available by the Knights of Columbus. The list of auction items is 46 long and ranges from cash to tires to gas and lots and lots of homemade items all donated by the parishioners. Tickets are available for a full sheet of 12 tickets for $5 or 3 tickets for $2 the day of the indoor garage sale or from the parishioners of St. Anthony’s church.
A Harvest Dinner is being planned at the Sheffield United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov.2 from 5 to 7 p.m. for a donation only. Stop in the church and receive some warm hospitality and a turkey dinner with all the fixins.
