Music in Park

Dear editor:

Glad to see that the city has decided to take on the “Music in the Park” program. My wife and I have been spending Fridays, and at one time, Saturday evenings there for quite awhile. Congrats to the Zavinski’s and Northwest for what they have done for the program. I enjoy almost every type of music there is. In saying that, I have to confess that Polka and Jazz I can do without. No offense Pete. (I do listen to contemporary Jazz at times) So if I don’t like is being featured that weekend, I usually don’t go and listen., my choice.

I was more than a little disappointed when I read the article in the paper and Mr.Harvey ask the question whether there would be any “musical acts that are religious in nature”. Especially after a contemporary Christian artist had performed at the Library Theater the night before. From what I heard, there were more than a couple of seats filled in the theater.

Let me ask a question. Is there anyone young or old out there who would like to hear a contemporary Christian or Gospel band or artist perform at Music in the Park?

Our schools can teach about any type of religion they choose, except Christianity. Now I’m going to make a statement that will ruffle some feathers.

Why is that so? Because Satan doesn’t care if you are a Buddhist, Hindu, Islamist, Secular humanist, into Scientology, agnostic or atheist. He knows they won’t get you into heaven.

Christianity isn’t about religion, it’s about a relationship. A relationship with Jesus Christ. Only Christianity is being persecuted around the world. Why? John 14:6; Jesus answered, “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Jesus is the only way!
