JV football

The Warren Area High School junior varsity football team improved to 5-2 on the year with a 16-14 win over Franklin Saturday at Franklin High School.

Trailing 14-0, the Dragons scored 16 unanswered points in the fourth quarter starting with a 48-yard touchdown pass from Logan Galloway to Devin Nowacki. Galloway and Nowacki hooked up on the ensuing two-point conversion attempt to cut Franklin’s lead to 14-8.

The Knights were forced to punt on their next possession thanks to a defensive stop by Alex DeSimone, and Galloway found tight end Derek Reagle down the middle of the field to tie the game. Galloway kept it on the ground for another two-point conversion, giving his team the late lead.

Franklin’s comeback attempt ended with a fumble recovery by Warren’s Morgan Latshaw, and the Dragon offense was able to run out the clock.

The junior varsity Dragons will finish their season against Titusville at 11 a.m. Saturday at War Memorial.
