Square dance change
Circle 8 Square Dance Club will dance in the Israel Building at Warren State Hospital rather than in the gymnasium at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Those who do not know where the six-story Israel Building is may ask at the gym entrance.
Chapman trail day
Chapman State Park will have a trail work day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Volunteers are welcome. If you’re a hiker or skier you know that great trails help make great parks. Many parks rely on volunteers to keep trails open. Penny Run Trail needs some improvements before cross country skiing season begins; it needs to be cleared and drained. Join the park naturalist to get outdoors, get dirty and get that water off the trail! Please bring a lunch, work gloves, shovels and rakes. Meet at the park office.
Monday Night Movies at the Warren Public Library will continue Oct. 28. This free event will be held at 5:30 p.m. f charge and begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Slater Room on the third floor of the library. Complimentary popcorn will be available. This week’s PG-13 rated, 109 minute film stars Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Reed Diamond and Sean MaherAlex. Writer/director Joss Whedon gives William Shakespeare’s beloved battle-of-the-sexes comedy a contemporary makeover in this feature adaptation. In the wake of an eventful trip abroad, Claudio and Benedick arrive safely back in their hometown of Messina, where Claudio wastes no time declaring his love for Hero. Alas, when clever Benedick learns that his friend has poured his heart out to the daughter of powerful governor Leonato he chides his old friend relentlessly over the syrupy assertion while engaging Leonato’s outspoken niece Beatrice in a series of spirited debates. Meanwhile, somewhere amidst all of the pointed insults and playful barbs, something that strangely resembles true love seems to blossom between Benedick and Beatrice. Call the library at 723-4650 for the exact title of this and other movies in this series as the library’s movie license does not permit listing the titles of movies outside the library.
