Susan Sanford Hultman, 70, of Pleasant Township passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at her home. Susan was born in Youngsville, PA in March 1943.
Susan was a graduate of Youngsville High School and a lifelong resident of Warren County. She worked in retail stores in the area for over thirty years, including the Ski Warren, Betty Lee and Valone Shoes where she truly enjoyed interacting with her clients. Prior to her retail career, Susan worked as a seamstress at Hultman’s Tailors and Cleaners. She had many hobbies, such as reading, knitting, and cooking. Susan grew beautiful flowers and took pride in her gardening. She was also an avid sports fan. Susan always watched her grandson’s athletic events and was excited about the Red Sox playing in the current World Series.
Susan was lovingly raised by Gilbert and Mayola Sanford. Later in life, Susan and her birth mother, Mary Gibbons Sanford, were reunited and became close to one another.
She is survived by one son, Stephen Hultman, and Pam Bova of Warren, PA; a daughter, Lesley Hultman Berdine, and her husband Joel of Erie, PA; two siblings, Leslie and Gilbert Sanford, both of Youngsville, PA; three grandchildren, Brandon Hultman, Caleb Hultman and Adam Cassell; three greatgrand children, Blake Cassell, Riley Hultman and Mackenzie Cassell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and birth parents.
Friends will be received on Sunday, October 27, at Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA from 1 to 3 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held, with Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor, Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating.
