VOLLEYBALL: WCCS advances to New-Penn final

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Warren County Christian School’s volleyball team will look to complete its second straight undefeated season on Saturday in the final of the New Penn Christian Conference Tournament at Jamestown Bethel against Christian Life Academy.

On Friday, WCCS improved to 15-0 with a 25-15, 25-19, 25-20 win in the semifinals over Meadville Calvary Baptist, who WCCS coach Monica Kerr said “played very well tonight.”

The No. 1 seed as the regular-season champion, WCCS played the number-four seed, but said her team’s job isn’t done.

“You always have to be mindful of being humble,” said Kerr.

On Friday, Allyssa Kerr had 10 service points, two aces and 10 kills; Kaitlin Weidner eight points, three aces, five kills, 12 assists, two blocks and eight digs; Caitlin McCall 19 digs; Jess Lauffenburger three kills; Whitney Poindexter two aces, six kills and one block; Dymphee Zortman 11 points, two aces and seven digs; Megan Cox nine digs; Desirae Kerr eight assists, and; Kate Erdman one kill.

WCCS plays CLA at noon Saturday at Jamestown Bethel.
