Local food service inspections

The City of Warren and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture conducted food service inspections in late September and early October.

The city inspector reported the following inspections:

Hog Wild BBQ Co., 402 Chestnut St., no violations.

Conewango Club, 201 Market St., three non-critical violations: thermometers not provided in all refrigerators and freezers; food stored in boxes in walk-in freezer not six inches off floor; and kitchen floor needs cleaned under and around appliances.

Kwik-Fill, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. E., no violations.

Choice, 215 Pennsylvania Ave. W., no violations.

Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., no violations.

Vita Bella Italian Cafe, 340 Pennsylvania Ave. W., two non-critical violations: thermometers not provided in all refrigerators and freezers; and kitchen floor needs repaired.

Shur-Fine, 1613 Pennsylvania Ave. E., no violations.

Bi-Lo, 4 Market St., two critical violations: walk-in refrigerator not at proper cold holding temperature; and outdated lunch meat found in deli case; and one non-critical violation: appliances need cleaned in kitchen area.

Dollar General, 40 Market Plaza, one non-critical violation: vents in front of coolers need to be cleaned.

Trinity Memorial Church, 444 Pennsylvania Ave. W., no violations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture inspected the following establishments:

Hummingbird Cafe, 123 Main St., Tidioute, four violations – one partial gallon of milk had a sell-by date of 9/27/2013 (inspection Oct. 4); two loose door gaskets on cold hold unit in food prep area; heavy buildup of carbon/residue on grill steak-weight; and five tube lights not shielded nor shatterproof.
