Student survey

Dear editor:

If you are a parent of a 6th, 8th, 10th, or 12th grader, please take note of the pink form that recently came home from school with your child regarding the Pennsylvania Youth Survey.

This form must be signed and returned to exempt your child from taking this survey. This survey is optional and has absolutely nothing to do with your child’s education.

Be sure to access the following site in order to view the 12 pages of questions that will be asked of your child. You will be quite surprised by the type of questions asked. For example: How many times have you had to skip a meal because your family didn’t have enough money to buy food? How easy would it be for you to get beer? Cigarettes? A handgun? Cocaine? On how many occasions (if any) have you used methamphetamine in your lifetime? Ecstasy? Hallucinogens? Heroin? Crack? Cocaine? Beer? Steroids? Prescription pain relievers? Tranquilizers? Stimulants? Bath Salts? Mr. Smiley? Pink Pandora? The questions go on and on to the tune of 113 questions!
