at Drake Museum
The Pennsylvania Independent Petroleum Producers will host a forum at the Drake Well Museum, 202 Museum Lane, Titusville, at 1 p.m. Thursday to highlight the role the industry plays in Pennsylvania’s economy and the challenges it faces in the future.
The forum will feature state Reps. Kathy Rapp, Warren; Martin Causer, McKean; Brad Roae, Crawford; State Sen. Scott Hutchinson, Warren; and former State Sen. John Peterson as well as several independent oil producers and their employees.
Fire police needed
Warren County Fire Police are needed at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12-13, for the Johnny Appleseed Festival in Sheffield and for Senior Expo at the TAWC garage, 42 Clark St., Warren, on Oct. 25 at 8 a.m.
Toys for Tots sign-up
Applications will be taken for Warren County Toys for Tots on Oct. 14-18 and Nov. 29-30 from noon to 5 p.m. at Warren Mall, by BonTon.
Parents and children must reside in Warren County; children’s Social Security or Access cards are required. Children’s age limit is 16.
There will be no other sign up times for 2013, and no phone or email applications will be accepted.
Sasquatch Race on Oct. 27
The 2013 Sasquatch Race will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Chapman State Park.
The 3.06-mile trail run is sponsored by Northern Allegheny Outdoor Women’s Association and Warren Police Explorers.
The start/finish line will be at the boat launch warming hut near the sled-riding hill. Early registration through Oct. 12 is $15 and ensures a long-sleeve commemorative T-shirt. Late registration is $20 and runs through the day of the event. On-site registration opens at 7 a.m.
