HELEN FOSTER

Helen C. Foster, age 91, formerly of 377 Weiler Road, Warren, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Warren General Hospital. Helen was born January 29, 1922, in Warren, PA, the daughter of Victor Zephaniah and Muriel (Clark) Carlino. She was a graduate of Warren High School and later worked at Walker’s Creamery, where she met her husband. When her children were grown, Helen worked at the Blair Corporation for many years until retiring. Helen was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and was very active in the choir. She was a member of the Clemens Sunday School class. She and her husband were founding members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club. In her youth, she loved rollerskating. Later in life, she stayed active through cross country skiing, and hiking. She was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed playing piano and reading. She enjoyed traveling, and especially liked the British culture.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah F. Forbes and her husband, Dean, Elkton, MD, Susan E. Foster, Buffalo, NY, and Gail F. Geary and her husband, Kirk, Warren; a son, David R. Foster, Czech Republic; one brother, William Carlino and his wife, Barbara, Florida; five grandchildren, Anne Zelonis and TSGT John Zelonis, Andrew Geary, Michael Geary, Megan Geary; one greatgrand child, Mason A. Zelonis; as well as several, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on December 14, 2007 by her husband, Robert L. Foster, whom she married on August 14, 1943 in Warren, PA; her brother, Albert Carlino; and her nephew, Keith Carlino.

Friends will be received today, Wednesday, October 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, PA, and on Thursday, October 10, at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Penn. Ave., E., Warren, PA from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held there, with Rev. Kevin Haley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
