Jr. high football

Beaty’s eighth-grade football team earned its first win of the season on Wednesday, 57-0 over Franklin at War Memorial Field.

Kohl Nosel had three rushing touchdowns, Ryder Bennett and Ben Thomas two each, Tyler Lauffenburger one, and Chris White caught a touchdown pass from Ryan Munksgard in the win.

Defensively, Nosel and Munksgard had interceptions for Beaty (1-3), and Ryder Bennett, Andrew Davidson, Andrew Egger, Evan Tremblay and White also stood out.

Jr. high hoops

Ike Blue lost to Kane 39-8. For Ike, Savannah McKown had four points, Haley Spicer two, and Sandra Richards two.

For Eisenhower Gold, a 30-12 winner, Delaney Mizzi had eight points, Cameran Edwards six, Brielle Whitney five, Lydia Gianinni four, Ashley VanGuilder three, Anna McJunkin two, and Caroline Hishman two.

Ike is at Titusville on Saturday.

WAHS Homecoming

The Warren Area High School Homecoming bonfire, originally scheduled for Thursday night, has been cancelled. A pep rally will be held in the gymnasium after the completion of the varsity volleyball match.
