Beaty’s eighth-grade girls team defeated Oil City, 28-19, on Tuesday. Rachel Wilson led Beaty with 12 points, Chelsea Wees and Logan Hammond had four each, Lyndsey Goldthwaite, Morgan Lupole and Taylor Lucks two each, and Margo Loutzenhiser and Hayley Justice one point each.
The Beaty-Warren Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team improved to 10-0 on the year Tuesday with a 45-5 win over Oil City. Laura Lucks led the way with 12 points, Kadee Merenick and Gracie Wood each had 10, Kayla Giambrone added six, Ceci Citro five, and Sierra Matson two.
The Eisenhower football boosters will hold a meeting 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 309 at the high school. Film from last week’s game against Cochranton will be shown prior to the meeting at 6 p.m.
Nathan Sandberg claimed the title of Blueberry Hill Golf Course Men’s Club Champion with a total score of 226 in the three-day event. Barb Hill shot a 182 over two days to become the Women’s Club Champion.
Conewango Valley Country Club member Hallie Dubia recorded her second career hole-in-one on Monday, Sept. 30, at CVCC. Her ace came on the 11th hole which measures 93 yards, using her pitching wedge. The shot was witnessed by Don Dubia, Paul Ignatius, and My Ignatius.
Sheffield High School graduate and Juniata sophomore Nick Bonavita had a pair of tackles in the Eagles’ 46-16 loss to Franklin and Marshall on Saturday. Through four games, Bonavita has 17 tackles – 13 solo – and Juniata is 3-1 overall.
Russell-native Justin Demontier is a forward and vice president of the newly-formed Pitt-Bradford men’s club hockey team. The Panthers will open their season at Medaille on Oct. 12, and the first home game will be Oct. 13, against the University of Buffalo, at Callahan Park.
Warren Area High School graduate Ellis Beardsley is a freshman runner on Mount Union’s women’s cross country team. Beardsley finished 50th out of 199 on Sept. 21 Otterbein Invitational 6K in 25:55.2.
