Friends & Family Day

Win at bridge
Winners at Warren County YMCA bridge club play on Sept. 23 were Carol Lake and Beth Howe, first with 32; Janet Templeton and Mary Conarro, second with 29; and Magda Fanaritis and Jill Dart, third with 28.5. Winners on Sept. 30 were Carol Lake and Beth Howe, first with 30; Joann Hultquist and Connie Michell, second with 29; and Dot Boekeloo and Sally Steele, third with 27.
Space is still available on two trips sponsored by the Allegheny Community Center. The first will be on Friday, Oct 4, going to the Franklin Applefest. This trip will leave CRI parking lot at 9 a.m. and return to Warren by 4 p.m. The second trip will be to Middlefield, Ohio. It will be a brown bag tour on Oct. 11. The bus will leave CRI parking lot at 7 a.m. traveling to an Amish home where coffee and a snack will be served, also with a chance to purchase some wonderful Amish baked goods. Each person will be given a loaf of bread; then on to Middlefield Swiss Cheese House for a bag of cheese; to Sage’s Apple Farm for a bag of apples; to an Amish farm for a delicious meatloaf dinner; Riverview Farm for a small pumpkin; and ending at the Commons Store where bulk foods can be purchased. MS support offered
The Warren Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Slater Room (third floor) of the Warren Public Library. Doug Vaughn will lead the group in a general discussion. Light refreshments will be available, but everyone is asked to bring their own beverage of choice. Anyone affected by MS, their family, friends and anyone interested in learning more about MS are invited. There is no charge for anyone to attend. The library is handicapped accessible from the rear of the building by parking in the midtown lot. There is an elevator to the third floor. Parking passes are available at the meeting for the midtown so there is not a fee for parking. A Rummage Sale will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market St., Warren, Oct. 4-5. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
John Berne Dance
The Slovenian Polka Boosters will have a John Berne Dance from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Maple Inn, Rt. 46, Crosby. Eddie Vallus of Poland, Ohio, will provide music for all types of dancing. The public is invited. For information call John or Pat Moore at 837-9218.
A Harvest Dinner, an old-fashioned Thanksgiving dinner, will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4. Cost will be a donation.
