CROSS COUNTRY: Warren, Ike fare well at invitationals
COCHRANTON-Blake Ristau placed 28th out of 139 varsity boys runners and Deanna Hahn finished 36th out of 98 in the girls’ varsity race to lead the Warren cross country teams at the 2013 Cochranton Invitational.
“We had some great races today for a relatively challenging course,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “Another weekend full of personal bests for the runners. They continue to keep improving race to race.”
“On the girls’ side, Deanna Hahn had a huge breakout race and will be someone to keep an eye on toward the end of the season. Blake Ristau had another big race, but Christian Olson came out of nowhere to break 19 minutes and really help out the team,” added Dustin.
Olson finished 50th in the boys race with his time of 18:50, Brandon Nielson finished 71st, Mark Reiff 73rd, Seth Johnson 86th, James Sturdevant 113th, and Ryan McGuiness 137th.
Following Hahn for the Lady Dragons was Alyssa Cumberland (86th) and Brittany Massa (92nd).
ROCHESTER, N.Y.-The Eisenhower Knights put together a strong showing at the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday, the boys finishing 16th out of 42 teams and the girls finishing 16th out of 25.
