Karen Lee Birt Enos, 68, of Lander, Pa. passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Warren General Hospital. Karen was born September 6, 1945, in Warren, Pa., the daughter of the late Timothy Layton Birt and Virginia M. Fellows Birt.

Karen was a woman of many hats-she was a member of the United Methodist Women, currently serving as the district President, a member of the Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a board member for the Ruth M. Smith Center in Sheffield, Pa.. Additionally, she was a member of the Lander United Methodist Church, where she had previously served as secretary, sang in the choir, and had also been in charge of missions for years. She was also most recently voted to be at trustee for the church next year.

Most importantly, Karen will be remembered by her family and many friends as a caring woman who touched the lives of so many people. She and her husband, Norman, helped raise thirteen foster children over the years. They also answered the call to serve God through many mission trips, including Louisiana, Mississippi and most recently, Joplin, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Norman V. Enos, Sr., whom she married in June 1965; her son, Norman V. Enos, Jr., New Kensington, Pa. two siblings, Terry Birt, and wife, Ann, formerly of Warren, Pa., and Becky Abbey, and husband, Robert, Russell, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son, Timothy Paul Enos.

Friends will be received Tuesday, October 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc, 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, Pa. The funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, at Lander United Methodist Church, 5582 Pennsylvania 957, Russell, Pa., with Rev. J. Mark Hurst, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Foster Cemetery.
