Recent Food Service Inspections In Warren County

The City of Warren and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture have published results of food inspections conducted in August and September.

The following establishments in the City of Warren were inspected and issued valid licenses through Sept. 30, 2014:

Draft House, 707 Pennsylvania Ave. E., one non-critical violation – food stored on floor in boxes in walk-in freezer;

Ling Ling’s, 227 Pennsylvania Ave. W., one critical violation – uncovered food found in refrigerator and freezers;

Kwik-Fill, Pennsylvania Avenue and Hickory Street, no violations;

Freddies Bar & Grill, 1207 Pennsylvania Ave. E., no violations;

American Legion, 412 Pennsylvania Ave. W., no violations;

CVS, 100 Market St., no violations;

Crone’s Drug Store, 212 Liberty St., one non-critical violation – thermometers not provided in all refrigerators.

The following inspections were conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture:

American Legion Post 658, 10 N. Main St., Youngsville, one violation – soda lines and/or non-integral cold plate device installed within ice bin, and in contact with ice used for consumer beverages;

Bear Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, no violations;

Beaty-Warren Middle School, 2 E. Third Ave., two violations – bottom front right panel on the milk cooler near the registers is loose and broken, the air gauge thermometer located within the panel is not working; unit needs to be repaired or replaced, handwash sinks located next to the ovens and next to the high-temp dish machine do not have water at a temperature of at least 100?F.

Brokenstraw Grange, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, two violations – raw meat was stored above prepared salads in the refrigerator, and food facility’s hot water tank is not working properly;

Brokenstraw Pool snack bar, 480 Thatchers Lane, Youngsville, no violations;

Cornplanter Concession, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, no violations;

Crone’s Drug Store, 212 Liberty St., no violations;

CVS, 100 Market St., no violations;

Eagles Touchdown Club, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, two violations – facility does not have a 0-220 degrees F stem-type thermometer for monitoring internal product temperature of food, and mobile food facility is using garden hoses rather than approved food-grade hoses to connect to the water source;

Eisenhower Bandastic Boosters, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, no violations;

Eisenhower Knighttime Players, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, one violation – the facility does not have floor covering in the food prep area behind the stand;

Famous Concessions LLC #3, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, two violations – the handwash sink for employees located outside the unit is not convenient and easily accessible, as evidenced by the observed lack of proper handwashing by employees, and soap and paper towels not available at the handwash sink;

Forester Restaurant, 2 Lenhart Road, no violations;

Jackson Valley Golf Club, 6927 Jackson Run Road, two violations – buildup of food residue/debris on the exterior top of the low-temp dish machine near the clean dish exit door, ServSafe certificate not available at premises;

Lander United Methodist Church, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, no violations;

Lander Volunteer Fire Department, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, one violation – multiple dead fly-like insects on tube-style light guard located above customer order window of the food facility, extremely dirty, dusty, and in need of cleaning and removal of dead insects;

Lander Volunteer Fire Department, 4400 Miller Hill Road, Russell, one violation – handle for the walk-in freezer is broken and in need of repair;

Ling Ling’s, 227 Pennsylvania Ave. W., one violation – some food stored with no covering;

St. Paul Center, 7266 Route 6, Sheffield, one violation – drain line connection on the bottom left basin of the two-bowl sink has come separated and water leaks when water is run into the sink;

Stanley Hose Company, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, no violations;

Starbrick Volunteer Fire Department, 5 Fireman St., no violations;

Sugar Grove United Methodist, 3 Race St., Sugar Grove, no violations;

Surrena’s Pizza, 546 Main Ave., two violations – heavy buildup of frost on the interior top and food storage shelving of the white single door reach-in freezer, and portable automatic soap dispenser located at the handwash sink in the food prep area would not dispense soap;

Track Concession, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, one violation – lens panel missing from the fluorescent light bulb above food serving unit;

Warren County 4-H Center, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, one violation – raw swiss steak was stored in a shallow container above swiss steak located in the staff refrigerator;

Warren County Pomona Grange, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, one violation – beef gravy was not cooled properly;

Warren County Farm Bureau, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, no violations;

Wells Hog Wild BBQ, 386 Kinzua Road, no violations;

Zem Zem Hornets, Warren County Fair, Pittsfield, two violations – steak and other potentially hazardous foods observed thawing in white chest freezer in an unplugged chest freezer which is not an approved thawing method, and meat slicer was stored with food debris.
