VOLLEYBALL: Tidioute grabs 2nd win

ERIE-Tidioute picked up its second win of the season, three sets to two, in a back-and-forth game Thursday night at Erie Bethel.

The Lady Bulldogs stormed out of the gate, winning the first two sets, 25-14 and 25-22, before Erie Bethel mounted a comeback with 25-17 and 25-20 wins in the third and fourth sets, respectively.

Tidioute regrouped, and wrapped up the win with a 15-11 victory in the deciding fifth set.

“The difference between games was the flow of our transitions and communication,” said Tidioute coach Margie Manning.

Robbi Kitelinger led the way for the Bulldogs with 10 aces and 28 service points, Anna Lindemuth had 10 kills, three blocks, and four aces, Morgan Molek had one kill, five aces, and six assists, and Emalei Schaberl had 25 service points and two kills.

Cambridge Springs 3, Youngsville 0

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS – Youngsville is 4-4 overall after a 16-25, 11-25, 10-25 Region 2 loss at Cambridge Springs on Thursday.

“We did some really good things,” said Youngsville coach Bev Fox, whose Eagles are 2-4 in region. “We played really well in the first game, but our serve-receive was terrible (the rest of the match), and that’s what killed us.”

Kennedy Cratty had nine digs, three kills and two blocks and her twin sister, Karissa Cratty, had nine digs, four kills and one block.

In a 14-25, 25-12, 7-15 junior varsity loss, Karrie Baker had 16 digs, Elyssa Horn seven digs and three kills, and Katrina Saulsgiver 10 digs.
