VOLLEYBALL: Lady Dragons swept at Corry

CORRY – After a 3-0 win on Tuesday, Warren was swept by Region 4-rival Corry on Wednesday.

“When we controlled the ball, we had a pretty effective attack, but we just gave away a few opportunities each game and they took advantage of it,” said Dolan of his Dragons’ 23-25, 17-25, 18-25 loss. “They are a very polished team with an exceptional middle hitter, but hopefully we learned a few things and will come back next time we play them more prepared.”

Corry has been rated in the top 10 in the state in PIAA Class AA.

Rachel Lasecki had 13 kills, Valerie Latimer 11 kills, and Teah Bines 25 assists and three aces for Warren (4-3). Nerissa McIntyre added 10 digs, Mckenzie Merenick nine digs. Paige Wilson three kills and two blocks, Allie Morrison four kills, and Ashley Barker two kills and one block.

In a 26-24, 19-25, 13-15 junior varsity loss, Lizzy Marsh had four blocks and two kills for Warren, Kaitlin Sedon eight assists and four digs, Haley Nelson four aces, Jen Daugharthy eight kills, Megan Wortman three kills, Haley Tuller three kills, Maddie Loutzenhiser four assists, and Alexis Munksgard three digs.
