Hit and run driver sought by local police

Police are looking for a car involved in a hit and run accident Tuesday evening involving an Amish buggy on Jackson Run Road in Conewango Township.

According to Conewango Township Police Officer Scott Neiswonger, a passenger in the buggy was injured and taken to Warren General Hospital.

The driver and other passenger were uninjured. The horse sustained injury in the crash and the road was reduced to one lane of travel for about an hour.

Neiswonger said both vehicles were traveling north on Route 62 when the car rear-ended the buggy at about 5:55 p.m. The hit-and-run vehicle left a portion of its passenger side front bumper and the passenger side headlight assembly at the scene of the crash.

Police are looking for a gray car, possibly a Toyota Corolla with Pennsylvania license plates with passenger side damage driven by a female with brown hair.

Anyone with information should contact the Conewango police at 814-726-0725. Conewango police were assisted at the scene by North Warren Volunteer Fire Department, North Warren Fire Police, and Emergycare.
