Theft. Warren-based state police said between Sept. 22 and 23 someone removed elevator weights (approximately threeinches thick and 20″ by 30″ in size) and approximately five feet of railroad tracks from Martin Hinton’s property, Hilltop Lane and Scandia Road, Russell. The stolen items are valued at more than $200. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
DUI/hit and run. Warren-based state police said on Sept. 20, a crash occurred in the parking lot of the Youngsville American Legion when Nathaniel Johnson, 31, Jamestown, N.Y., was backing up at a high rate of speed when his Nissan, Altima struck a utility pole in the middle of the trunk. Johnson then went through the parking lot of the American Legion at a high rate of speed leaving marks in the parking lot. Johnson then left the roadway and struck a flower bed made of railroad ties, he fled the scene before police arrived. Later the damaged vehicle was discovered along the road in the area of Jackson Run Road and Jacob Lane. Police said upon their arrival to the scene Johnson was in the vehicle and subsequently arrested for DUI. Charges for DUI and other traffic violations are pending. Police said Johnson and his passenger, Chad Trojanowski, 23, Sugar Grove, denied having any injuries according to police.
Warren-based state police reported a “missing person-endangered” on Monday night. Police said that on Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m., John Michael Sheehy made contact with his mother via telephone. “Based on the conversation Sheehy had with his mother he has been entered missing-endangered,” a press release from the state police said. Possible areas identified are Warren County, Bedford County, Pittsburgh and Corry. Sheehy’s last known address was Osterburg, Pa. Anyone with information regarding Sheehy’s whereabouts is asked to call 911, their local police department or Warren-based state police.
