Carl Ernest Campbell, 88, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013. He was born May 10, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Carl and Margaret Campbell. He served four years in the United States Navy. He also served as a LCDR with the United States Coast Guards Reserves retiring in 1992. He studied art at the University of Pittsburgh and at the Veterans School in Erie, Pa. Carl then attended the University of Edinboro graduating in 1957 with a B.S. in Education. He taught art for 30 years at Youngsville High School. As an extension of his love and passion for the arts, he was involved in the stage design for numerous musicals and plays over the years. He retired in 1982. Along with his late parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dane Campbell and three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janice Campbell; three sons, Tye Campbell and his wife Doreen, Clay Campbell, Donald Campbell and friend Ruth; and six grandchildren.
