Women open 101st year

President Judith Champlin welcomed members and guests Sept. 16 to the annual Presidents’ Tea at the Warren Woman’s Club. This program year will be the club’s 101st, offering collegiality, education and information about local issues and interests of our members and guests.

Past presidents were introduced and honored with a red rose. In remarks about their tenure as president, all agreed that the experience had been one of fond memories and an opportunity for personal growth and achievement.

In other matters, Champlin presented club members with the 2013-2014 yearbook containing the club’s annual calendar of upcoming luncheons, teas and events.

Special activities of interest to the public are What’s New for the Holidays, Nov. 16; participation in the annual City of Warren Christmas Walk, Dec. 6; Woman’s Club Tag Sale, Usable Discards, April 18-19; and the Fashion Show and Luncheon May 19. These activities help the club preserve its gracious Victorian home, a National Historic Landmark and allow the club to offer the facilities to community organizations and events.

The Warren Woman’s Club always welcomes new members. For more information, call 723-5910.

The next meeting will be a luncheon at noon on Oct. 7. Speaker will be Dr. William Clark, Superintendent of Warren County School District.
