What is “House of Hope”? As it states on their website, “Our goal is to provide transitional housing to women being released from the Warren County Prison as well as the state correctional institutions in Pennsylvania. Most are dealing with drug and alcohol and/or mental health issues. The House of Hope provides a safe place from which to transition back into the community. During their stay at the House of Hope women will have a chance to learn healthy coping skills in a loving, supportive environment where they will experience the love of God through staff and volunteers. We will work with churches, probation, counseling agencies, and other social services, as well as education and employment agencies to prepare the women to lead healthy, happy productive lives without the crutches of drugs, alcohol and poor relationships. They will acquire life skills that empower them to break the cycle of entrapment in the criminal justice system.”

The Benefit Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church in Chandlers Valley. Dinner will consist of spaghetti with homemade meatballs and sauce, tossed salad, homemade bread and homemade desserts.
