Special Olympics

Special Olympics Fall Multi-Sports Training, for the sports of bocce, long distance run/walk (LDR/W), soccer, powerlifting and volleyball, will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Warren County YMCA. If interested in being certified in any of these sports, or for information, including costs, e-mail Holly Zaffino at hazaffino@blair.com. Warren Special Olympics sports include bocce, volleyball and LDR/W.

College news

Eisenhower High School graduate Kelsey Repke had 12 digs in a loss to Elmira and 17 in a win ober Brockport on Saturday as Pitt-Bradford’s women’s volleyball team split a pair in Elmira, N.Y.

Jr. high hoops

Youngsville defeated Sheffield in a pair of junior high girls basketball games Wednesday afternoon at Youngsville Elementary Middle School. In game one, the Lady Eagles prevailed by a score of 36-7. Autumn Hultberg led the way with 14 pints, Caitlin Craig had eight, Paige Mineweaser three, Erin Dunn three, and Morgan Lawson, Alanna Hultberg, Ireland Smith, and Megan Foley each added two. Lexi Lyon scored three points while Isiss Pratz and Eliza Davidson chipped in two apiece for Sheffield.

In the second game, Sheffield cut an early Youngsville lead to two points, but the Lady Eagles finished on a 8-2 run to win by a score of 23-17. Alanna Hultberg scored 13 of Youngsville’s points, Dunn scored four, Smith three, Foley two, and Christina Fischer one. Maya Grubbs had eight points for the Lady Wolverines, while Taya Bailey scored four, Kennidee Confer two, Lyon two, and Davidson one.
