Youth hockey

The Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association will be holding a beginner and American Development Model registration on Saturday, September 14 and Saturday, September 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Warren State Hospital Soccer Fields. The beginner program is for children six and under as well as first-year seven and eight year olds. The ADM program is for children eight and under with at least one year of previous hockey experience. Anyone interested must register with USA Hockey at prior to attending the CCYHA registration. A copy of the USA Hockey number will need to be presented at the registration. For information, contact Christopher Spence at 716-997-1917.


The Eisenhower High School Football Boosters at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in room 309 at Eisenhower High School.

Jr. high hoops

The Beaty eighth-grade girls basketball team defeated Meadville, 25-16, Tuesday night at Warren Area High School. Beaty scorers were Margo Loutzenhiser with 10 points, Rachel Wilson five, Abby Bouchard three, and Lyndsey Goldthwaite, Taylor Lucks and Morgan Lupole two each.

The Beaty seventh-grade girls basketball team topped Meadville, 25-18, Tuesday night. Gracie Wood led Beaty with eight points, Kadee Merenick scored six, Laura Lucks five, Sierra Matson four, and Megan Blankenberg rounded out the group with two.
