Over 30 titles won

CMFS/The Bucket claimed another Over 30 Modified Softball A Division Championship Tuesday night with a 8-5 win over Mangione Beverage in the tournament final at Betts Park.

With the score 5-3 in favor of Mangione, The Bucket bats woke up and scored four runs to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Tyler Jones drove in a pair of runs with a double, and back-to-back singles from Jason Eggleston and Mel Eggleston swung the momentum in the Bucket’s favor.

Dan Zembardo and Dave Klemens each had two hits in the win.

American Legion defeated S&K 6-3 to win the Over 30 B league championship.

Legion was 6-10 and fourth in the league heading into the playoffs. They defeated Freddie’s to win the first round before toppling first-place Kwik Fill to head into the finals. S&K was 11-7 before the championship loss to Legion.

Butch Johnston hit a two-run home run in a four-run third inning in the win. S&K scored two runs in the sixth, but it wasn’t enough to come back to beat Legion.
