Vivian Joyce Ambrose, age 82, passed peacefully at Warren General Hospital on Saturday September 7, 2013 at 6:50 AM. Vivian was born in Mayburg, PA on May 27, 1931 to the late William and Pearl (Shingledecker) Fike.
On January 25, 1949, Vivian married Edward Ira Ambrose who preceded her in death on October 20, 1972.
She was employed by Modern Diner in Clarion, PA, and later employed by Warren State Hospital in Warren, PA. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed playing rummy and Chinese checkers with them. She was lovingly called “Mimi” by her greatgrandchildren. She enjoyed her flowers and plants, her small vegetable garden, and canning fruits and vegetables.
She is survived by one brother, Allan Fike; three sisters, Thelma Taylor, Sally Coull, and Donna Ganoe; one son, Larry Ambrose and his wife, Alinda; and one daughter, Debbie Ambrose. Mrs. Ambrose is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandy Ambrose, Jolie Ambrose, and Nicole Gern and her husband Brad; and six greatgrandchildren, Yelena Marcelo, Manny Gonzalez, Devon Bosko, Jayden Gonzalez, Braden Gern, and Brodee Gern.
Mrs. Ambrose was preceded in death by her husband Edward Ira Ambrose, her mother and father William and Pearl Fike, a brother William Fike, a sister Dorothy Neiswonger, and two infant sisters.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Warren County at: Hospice of Warren County, P.O. Box 68, Warren, PA 16365.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, Clarion PA where visitation will be held from 1:002:00pm on Tuesday, September 10 with funeral services to follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Clarion Cemetery.
