Youth trap

The second annual Fall Youth Trap League will be held at Pine Grove Sportsmen’s Club in Russell, PA on Sundays, September 8-29 with a “Free” Field Day October 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The league is open to all boys and girls in grades 7-12. Instruction by NRA certified instructors will be available. 25-round competition with a minimum of 3-Lewis Class Divisions. For information, contact Dave Carlson at 757-8467.

Golf results

The team of Bart Jensen, Tammy Jensen, Gary Evans, and Racheal Evans took first place with a score of 56 in the Conewango Valley Country Club’s Labor Day Couples Tournament held on Monday. Roy Williams, Betsy Williams, Bob Sedon, and Andrea Sedon tied with Ron Leofsky, Deb Leofsky, John Dale, and Judy Dale for second place at 59.

Park Avenue Motor Car defeated WMG Urology 24.5 to 15.5 to win the Jackson Valley Tuesday Night League Championship. Park Ave, who was the first half winner, consisted of Fred Highhouse, Mark Thompson, Phil Holcolmb, and Marty Ruhlman. Second half winner WMG consisted of Jim California, Colby Olson, Trevor Olson, and Kevin Zaffino. Here are the final point standings for the year:

The team of Chuck Briggs, Dave Peck, John Minavio, and Pete Hofert won the Youngsville Area Senior Golf League Championship played at Maplehurst Country Club.

Midtown Motors defeated Wacopse by a score of 21 to 19 to win the Monday Blueberry Senior Golf League. The Midtown team consisted of Art Cagel, Ken Miller, Bill Kunselman, and Dave Lopez, while Wacopse consisted of Jon Carlson, Lou Rich, Gary Breese, and Jack White. American Legion won the end of the year tournament with a score of 29.5. American Legion consisted of Dick Huckabone, Jim McMeans, Don Anderson, and Ted Bleech.

Hole in one

Brittany Saber shot a hole-in-one on hole six at Jackson Valley Golf Club using her 5-wood. The shot was witnessed by Paul Corey, Alecia Corey, and Jerry VanOrd.

Jr. high grid

The Beaty-Warren Middle School eighth graders lost to Walnut Creek Wednesday afternoon by a score of 38-14. Ben Thomas racked up 114 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns while Ryder Bennett, Kohl Nozzle, Evan Tremblay, and Matt Bennett played strong defensively in the loss.
