Warren Public Library offers adult photography contest
October is designated as “Photographer Appreciation Month,” a month to acknowledge and appreciate the good work done by photographers everywhere to preserve family history, current events, the beauty of nature – in short, everything we all see yet tend to forget.
This will be the inaugural year for a photography event at the Warren Public Library aimed exclusively at adults. This contest is open to Warren County residents age 20 and older. All photographs must be taken in Warren County and must be matted, framed and labeled as to when and where the photograph was taken as well as what camera was used. Photographers may enter one photograph in a maximum of three of the following categories: animals, architecture, bridges, events, historical landmark, nature, people, technology, transportation, water. All entries must be delivered to the Slater Room on the third floor of the Library on Wednesday, Oct. 16, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Judging will take place on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Ribbons will be awarded in each category. The first place winner in each category will be entered in the best of show judging. cash prizes will be awarded to the best of show winners as follows: best of show first place: $75; best of show second place: $50; best of show third place: $25; best of show crowd pleaser: $25.
Prizes will be awarded on Friday, Oct. 18. Following the noon award ceremony, the photographers may pick up their photographs.
