Hole in one

Jill Northrup had a hole-in-one while playing in the Jock Shop Tournament August 25 at Cable Hollow Golf Course. The shot took place on hole number two, using a hybrid club. Karl Northrup, Bob Young, and Sarah Young were on hand to witness the shot.

Softball tournament

The 2013 Tidioute One-Pitch Softball Tournament will be held September 7-8 at the Tidioute baseball field. Participants must be 18 or older. For information, contact Michael Buccardo at 484-1431 or 779-1274.

Mixed martial arts

Warren’s Anthony Durnell improved his overall Mixed Martial Arts record to 14-4 this weekend in the Pittsburgh Challenge Series 4 promotion. Durnell turned walked out of the cage with a unanimous decision victory over Amran Aliyev in what ohmma.com called “the clear cut fight of the night.” Undefeated in his last three professional bouts, Durnell looks to keep the momentum going as he is tentatively scheduled to fight again in November.
