WAYNE MILLER

Wayne W. “Corky” Miller, age 71, of 122 Loomis Street, N. Warren, PA, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Warren General Hospital of Warren, PA, following a lengthy battle with myelofibrosis.

Corky was born January 12, 1942 in Corry, PA, the son of Lois Kiser Miller and the late C. Wayne “Shorty” Miller. He was a lifelong area resident, and a 1959 graduate of Warren High School. He was employed as a maintenance machinist at GTE Sylvania in Warren, retiring after thirty years with the company. He and his wife were members of the First Lutheran Church of Warren.

Corky enjoyed hunting and fishing, and most recently enjoyed photography, having many of his photos published. He especially enjoyed his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Bonnie J. McCool Miller, whom he married on June 3, 1961; one daughter: Shelle Tubbs and husband Roger of N. Warren, PA; three sisters: Corynne Spattifor of Warren, PA, Dianna Chittester and her husband, James, of DuBois, PA, Lori Garland and her husband James, of Broken Arrow, OK; two granddaughters, Jessica Flickner and her husband Michael, of Bloomsburg, PA, Meghan L. Tubbs of N. Warren, PA; one great grandson, Wesley O. Flickner; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Corky was preceded in death by an infant son Todd W. Miller in 1965, a son, Jon T. Miller in1993; a brother, Gary Miller; and a soninlaw, Terry Ristau.

Friends will be received at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Street, Warren, PA., on Wednesday, August 21, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon, at which time a funeral service will be held with The Rev. David Blank and The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, coofficiating.

Burial will follow in the Warren County Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Warren Cancer Center, 2 Crescent Park, Warren, PA, or the First Lutheran Church.
