August is here already and the gardens are full of goodies. A few wonderful people are supplying the senior center with vegetables on a daily basis which are very much appreciated THANK YOU!

A luau luncheon will be served Aug. 19 so dust off your mumu’s and Hawaiian shirts and join the fun. Ham will be provided and seniors are asked to bring a dish to pass.

August brings our last picnic of the year at Rod & Gun Club on Bull Hill on Aug. 29. Corn, hot dogs and watermelon top off the menu along with a game of rip off after lunch. Don’t forget your wrapped gift you never know what you will end up with!

ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. M-F with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Mon. & Wed. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather. Hot lunches or light alternative lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to 723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.

The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers Aug. 19-23: chicken tenders Monday; chef salad Tuesday; meatloaf Wednesday; macaroni and tuna salad Thursday; chef’s buffet Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
