Monday, Aug. 19 will be macaroni and cheese, with stewed tomatoes, dessert and beverages.
Tuesday, Aug. 20 will be Hot Turkey Sandwiches, dessert and beverages.
Thursday, Aug. 22 will be breaded fish, dessert and beverages.
Monday, Aug. 26 will be Chicken and Biscuits, dessert and beverages.
Tuesday, Aug. 27 will be Chef Salad, dessert and beverages.
Thursday, Aug. 29 will be Soup and Sandwiches, dessert and beverages.
Please call the senior center at 484-3020 to make a lunch reservation or arrange a take out. You can also sign up for the bus to pick you up and take you to the center or downtown Tidioute on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursday to places such as the bank, grocery store, pharmacy, doctors office, and on Fridays they can take you to Warren.
Just remember you need to call the day before to make the arrangements.
Last week the $100 worth of PA instant lottery tickets drawing was held by the Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department, not the Fishing Tournament as previously reported.
There will be a $1 dinner on Thursday, Aug. 15, at 5 p.m. at the Tidioute First United Methodist Church.
Everyone in the community is invited to come for a BBQ dinner and good fellowship.
Cost for this event is only a $1 donation per person.
A big thank you is extended to Jane and Bill Downey, Marian Dashner and Mike Dashner for mowing and cleaning up the hillside between Route 62 and Route 337 prior to the WWII Re-enactment held last weekend.
These folks volunteered their time equipment for the mowing.
Last chance to get in on the VFW Annual Picnic to the held on Saturday, Aug. 17, at Tidioute Bucktails.
Members of the Ladies Auxiliary are still accepting wrapped items for the White Elephant Sale that will be held during the picnic.
Items can be dropped off at the Post Home or bring them with you to the picnic.
Tidioute Community Charter School and members of the SADD group will be hosting a benefit spaghetti dinner and a Celebration of Life Dance for Cody Mohrey, Cody Masters and Tom Phelps on Friday, Aug. 17 at Tidioute Firehall.
Dinner will be from 5 p.m to 7 or 8 p.m. and the Dance will be from then until 10 p.m.
Ham and Turkey Party
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament Committee members will be holding a Ham and Turkey Party on Sunday, Sept. 1 at the Tidioute Firehall.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the games will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit the upcoming 54th Annual Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament set for Sept. 26 – 29.
Letter Of Appeal
Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department is requesting monetary donations from residents and campers to help defray the rising costs of operating a volunteer fire department.
The cost is continually going up for training the firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians.
Those wishing to make monetary donations, regardless of the amount can send it to Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 122, Tidioute, PA 16351

District 19 VFW
Due to the conflict in scheduling the District 19 VFW and its Auxiliary meetings have been changed.
The District 19 meeting will be held on Aug. 25 at the Bradford VFW Post 212. The Auxiliary meeting will start at 2 p.m.
The newly elected State President Julie Dever will be making her official visit at this time. There will be a meet and greet with President Dever from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. before the Auxiliary meeting.
Class of 1963
Members of the Tidioute High School Class of 1963 met on Friday night at Buccardo’s Restaurant for dinner and a lot of catching up on the past.
Those who attended included Pat Hannah, Pat Eastman, Linda Knapp, Lillian Shoemaker, Marge Piper, Bob Williams, Terry Morrison, Willard Archer and Toni Bean.
Grand Prize Drawing
Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament is selling Grand Prize Tickets for a 24-Inch flat screen TV for the first drawing. Second drawing is for $250 in Cash.
Tickets are $1 each and the drawing is set for Sunday, Sept.29.
Tickets were sponsored by the Corry Journal.
This year the theme for the Fishing Tournament Parade is “Salute to Volunteers”
Lineup is at 10 a.m. Judging of the Floats is set for 11 a.m. and the parade starts at 1 p.m.
Chairpersons are John Brown and Nathan Brown.
The Fireworks for the Fishing Tournament are planned Saturday, Sept. 28 at 9:45 p.m. They are sponsored by Tidioute Trading Post and the Servicemen’s Home Corporation.
When you see the owners and employees of these establishments please be sure to thank them for the beautiful show coming for this year.
Class of 1993
Tidioute High School Class of 1993 held their 20th Class Reunion on Saturday, July 27, at the home of Jack and Sue Shields, parents of classmate Melissa Shields.
Also present were Toni Martin, Lynn Buccardo, Todd Martin, Eli Martin, David Gesin, Jeremy Nicholson, and Brian McKay.
Bulldog Golf Scramble
The 4th Annual Bulldog Golf Scramble, presented by Polly’s ShurSave Market, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 9 a.m. at Hi Level Golf Course.
Cost is $200 per team ($50 per person) for 18 holes with a cart, all beverages will be provided along with hotdogs on the turn.
There will be a picnic and prizes following the event.
Proceeds benefit the Tidioute Community Charter School Boys Basketball Team.
Participants must be at least 21 years of age , proof of ID required.

In the past few weeks members of the Tidioute First United Methodist Church has been collecting school items for the students at Tidioute.
Kelley McKean will be picking up those supplies from the drop off sites on Friday, Aug. 16, and taking them to the school. If you have any items to donate such as pencils, pens, erasers, tissues, highlighters, rulers, colored pencils, crayons, safety scissors, notebooks, folders and pencil pouches. Or even the Hand sanitizers, Clorox wipes, or wet ones. Be sure to get them to Polly’s Market, Tidioute Library, Tidioute Post Office lobby or Buccardo’s Restaurant before Friday.
Tidioute Community Charter School students return to school on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Tidioute Borough Council met at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the borough office.
Minutes from the previous meeting were accepted and approved. The treasurers report for July was also accepted and permission was granted to pay they bills.
Police Chief Steve Vincent reported traveling 588 miles for the past month, and he had 12 incidents and charges.
WWII Committee members will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6 p.m.at the borough office. Anyone wishing to help with this event for next year is urged to attend this meeting. The committee is looking for volunteers and new ideas. The public is welcome to attend as well.
Finance committee members will be meeting in September to start on the budget.
Fall Gun Raffle
Tidioute Area Volunteer Fire Department members are hosting their annual Fall Gun Raffle on Saturday, Nov. 11.
They are currently selling those tickets at Tidioute Trading Post, and from your favorite firefighter.
Also, they are selling tickets on a quarter of beef and freezer.
Raffles one through four will be for a quarter of beef, all beef quarters will have the same cuts of meat: non-negotiable. Raffle 5 will be for the chest freezer.
Tickets are $5 each, winner need not be present to win.
Plans for the 17th Annual Glenn McKown Bass Tournament are underway with Deb Genter at the helm once again.
The catch and release event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, in Tidioute from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The weigh-in will be held at 4 p.m. at Tidioute boat launch and the public is invited to attend.
Entry fee is $30 per boat with the categories being: two men, couple, and Adult/Youth (under age 16).
Permitted fishing area is Kinzua tailwaters to President, PA Boat Launch. River fishing only, no creeks.
Smallmouth Bass caught on artificial baits only are to be brought to the scales in water filled containers.
This year the committee is selling T-shirts “Fishing for the Cure” on the front for $20 each. Proceeds from the sales will be given to the Warren Cancer Center. Shirts are available in Aquatic Blue or Green. Shirt orders must be in by Friday, Aug. 16 to Deb Genter.

54th Annual PA
Tidioute Pennsylvania is the home of the State Championship Fishing Tournament, and this is the 54th year for this free fishing contest.
The tournament is set for Thursday, Sept. 26, to Sunday, Sept, 29 with fishing on Saturday and Sunday only.
There will be several activities going on in Tidioute that weekend to provide entertainment for the entire family.
A carnival will be set up with rides and concessions from Carnival Trowver of Gibsonton, Florida. Rides and concessions will be open on Thursday through Sunday.
Local organizations will have food booths including the United Methodist Church with their Funnel Cakes and hot Sausages. Game booths will be manned by several of organizations in the community and several others will be set up with raffle tickets to benefit their organization.
Tidioute Lions Club will have their wheel game, raffle tickets and brooms.
Watson Grange will have their Dime Pitch as usual and they are still accepting donations of glass items that can be used in the Dime Pitch, contact John Hollabaugh to have the items picked up.
Saturday, September 28th the scales will open at 8 a.m and close at 8 p.m sharp., Kids Derby for those age 3 to age 10 will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Benner Park, An Arts and Crafts Show at Tidioute Firehall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the public, Parade line up is at 10 a.m. Parade begins at 1 p.m. sharp at Tidioute Firehall, Finalist announced at 8:30 p.m., Junior Champion Angler will be crowned at 9 p.m. Fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
Sunday, September 29 the carnival and grounds will open at 12 noon. Champion Angler for 2013 will be crowned at 3 p.m. and the closing ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m.
