AOC on the move
On Friday, Aug. 16, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will ride bikes in Oil Creek State Park. Participants will meet at the Garden Center at 70 Railroad St., Youngsville, at 9 a.m. then drive to Petroleum Center, which is at the southern end of the park. They will then ride north on the bike trail and continue on to Titusville where they will eat lunch at a restaurant then ride back to Petroleum Center for a total of 30 miles. On Saturday, Aug. 17, the AOC will ride bikes in the Corry area. Participants will meet at Mead Park in Corry at 8 a.m. From there they will ride to Clymer for breakfast at the Dutch Village Restaurant at 9:30 a.m. then on to Cutting then returning to Corry for a total of 40 miles. The Slovenian Polka Boosters will dance from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Big Trout Inn in Weedville. Dick Tady DTO of Springdale, Pa., will provide music for all types of dancing. The public is invited. For more information, call John or Pat Moore at (814) 837-9218.
Music in the Park

Newton Club to lunch
Newton Dinner Club will have lunch at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Pat Brown’s home. Participants should take a dish to share and a food item for the food bank. It’s also wear a hat day.
Camping at fairgrounds
Camping Labor Day weekend at the Warren County Fairgrounds in Pittsfield is open to the public. The public is invited to make reservations now and join in this three-day weekend. There are many campsites to choose from. There will be go kart racing at the Motorsports Arena starting at 7 p.m. on Aug. 30. Ron Carrington and the Touch of Gold Band will play on Sunday, Sept. 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the First Niagara Pavilion. The public is invited to both of these events. The Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE), Barton Schuler Chapter, will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Perkins Restaurant in Warren. The local chapter has been invited by the Erie chapter to attend its meeting at noon Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Maennerchor Club in Erie (16th at State) to meet PARSE lobbyist Lynn Herman.
