Golf results

Joe Nelson captured his second Conewango Valley Country Club Men’s Club Championship on Sunday, August 11. He fired a 36 hole total of 150 (74-76). Dick Cole and Mike Bancroft finished in 2nd place with a score of 153 for 36 holes. In the Net Division, Bradley Simmons fired 2 net scores of 66-68 for a 134 total. Mike McElrath finished in 2nd place with a 36 hole net total of 143.

In the Conewango Valley Country Club Junior Club Championships, Hayden Edwards took first in Cadet Boys with a 66, Drew Swanson took first in Prep with a 22, and Evan Swanson shot a 20 to take first place in the Novice category. On the girls side, Myah Madril took first in Prep with a 25, and Sara Sokolski won the Novice division with a 36.

Denny Ayers shot the low gross in this week’s Cable Hollow Senior Men’s Golf League with a 37. Ken Rowland and Larry Spencer tied for low net, each shooting 30’s. Here are the team standings through August 9:

Roy Swanson and Sam Marek shot matching 34s to lead the Warren County Industrial Golf League last Thursday at Blueberry Hill Golf Course. Lee Chew shot the low net of 27. Here are the team standings through August 8:

EHS hoops

Eisenhower junior high girls’ basketball practices will begin Monday, August 12, at Russell Elementary School from 9-11:30 a.m.. Players must have a completed physical form in order to participate.
