Bob Yucha’s 38 was the low gross and Bill Young’s 30 was low net in Wednesday’s Youngsville Area Senior Golf League at Maplehurst Country Club. Bob Waterman had an eagle, and Ron Owens had a pair of birdies.
The teams of Justin Norris/Terry Moldovan and Colby Clark/Bill Kulinski tied for the low gross with a 36 in the Fitch Disposal Scramble League at Cable Hollow Golf Course. Three teams finished in a tie for the day’s low net. Jason Lyon/Jim Crossley, Denny Munksgard/Ryan Stanton, and Sam Pusateri/Darrell Pusateri all netted 35’s. Here are the league’s top three teams through August 6:
1. Tim Shield/Rodney Korbar 84.5, 2. Mark Kulka/Bob Hunter 80.5, 3. Dave Bortz/Rick Nasman79.0.
Ryan Lemon and Matt DeLong wound up in a tie for low gross with 37’s in the Tuesday’s Cable Hollow 2-Man League. Dave Salvatore posted the low net with a 31. Here are this season’s team leaders through August 6:
T1. Bob Hunter/Mark Kulka 188.5, T1. David Stewart/Mike Ventura 188.5, 3. Gary Darling/Steve Darling 184.0.
Greg Senyo and Chuck Hazeltine shot matching 32’s for the low gross round in August 5’s Cable Hollow Monday Scratch League. Rick Rohlin and Scott Pierson are the first place team with 94.5 season points, while Ron Lemon and Dan Lemon are second with 85.0.
Seventh- and eighth-grade football players at Beaty Warren Middle School will have equipment pick-up between 4 and 6 p.m. Monday in the lower parking lot at Warren Area High School. Beaty will resume practicing from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the WAHS practice field behind the Career Center.

WAHS girls golf
Warren Area High School girls golf practice will be held at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Jackson Valley Golf Course. HIPPA and physical forms must be completed to try out.
Junior high basketball practice for Beaty Warren Middle School will begin Monday, August 12 at 3:30 p.m. in the WAHS gymnasium. The first week of practices will be from 3:30-5:30, Monday-Friday. A more set schedule will be sent home by the end of the week. Do not forget to bring physical forms and be sure to pay your participation fee at Warren Area Elementary Center.
The Mark Garrett Memorial Slowpitch Softball Tournament, benefitting the Warren County Youth Baseball Softball Association, Caring For Life and Close to the Heart, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Betts Park. There will be a tent set up in front of the concession stand at the park for giveaways on each day. Tickets for a benefit Chinese Auction, with locally-donated items, will be sold on Saturday, as well as 50/50 tickets for a drawing each day. There is a separate raffle for a pool stick and pool table. T-shirts and hoodies will be on sale.
