Dice Run planned

Saturday in Kane

A Fallen Soldier Memorial Dice Run will be held Aug. 10 with start and stop at Kane VFW, Wetmore Ave., Kane. Food and entertainment will follow the run. Cost will be $20 per bike ($15 per passenger). Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m., and kickstands will be up at 11:30 a.m. An escorted ride to Gibbs Hill Cemetery will culminate in a blessing of the bikes and paying respect to SSG Ken Vangiesen. All proceeds will benefit the Vangiesen Memorial, Fallen Soldiers Tribute Foundation.

Career counseling

JCC Warren Center is taking appointments for free career counseling sessions to be held in Warren on Aug. 14 and 21. Call 723-3577 to schedule. Credit classes begin Aug. 26.

Yoga planned

at ACC

Allegheny Community Center, 42 Clark St., will host an all-level Vinyasa Yoga class with Sara Mesmer. This will run on Fridays, Aug. 9, 16 and 23, from 1 to 2 p.m. Vinyasa Yoga is gentle motion with deepening breath which brings a peaceful mind and more ease in the body. Sara has been teaching in Denver, Colorado, the past eight years and training yoga teachers for five years. Suggested donation is $5-10 per session.

Women’s Cancer

Support offered

The Women’s Cancer Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, in the new lobby of the Cancer Care Center. Terry Cook, director of oncology services at the Cancer Center, will speak. Any woman who has had a diagnosis of cancer at any time is welcome. For more information, call 726-1786.

Trinity Forum

discusses violence

The third topic for “Trinity Forum” will be “What is a Christian response to guns and violence in American society?” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, Poplar St. at Pennsylvania Ave. W., Warren. According to coordinators, all doubts, questions, opinions and beliefs are honored during this discussion period. This will be the last forum for the summer.
