Wilma E. Zinger, 95, formerly of Garland, went home to be with her Lord on August 5, 2013 at the Rouse Warren Co. Home.

She was born on June 13, 1918 in Torpedo, Pa., a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace (Cotterman) Pike. Wilma attended the Garland and Tidioute area schools. She worked in a Corry factory and was known as “Rosie the Riveter”. She also worked at the New Process Co. during World War II. Wilma and her husband owned and operated the Clearview Inn and a small grocery store for a number of years. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, and going to town on Friday’s to get her hair done.

Wilma is survived by eight grandchildren, Shelly (John) Terassi, Sherri Williams, Jeff (Patty) Chase, Bonnie (Gary) Fenstermaker, Brenda (Brad) Johnson, Kristin (Brian) Donahue, Craig (Marsha) Zinger and Shawn Zinger, thirteen greatgrandchil dren and eighteen great greatgrandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Harold C. Zinger, who she married on August 7, 1935 in Youngsville, and who died on June 12, 1990, a daughter, Jeanette “Jan” Littlefield, a son Robert Zinger, four sisters, Katherine Hammond, Ellen Thomas, Blanche Parker, and Mary Wickwire, five brothers, Clyde, Allen, Ralph, Harry and Donald Pike.

The family would like to say a special “thank you” to all of Wilma’s caregivers, neighbors, and friends that were so good to our grandmother.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Presbyterian Church with Tim Olsen, Lay Minister, officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Garland Methodist Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Garland Presbyterian Church, or to the Garland Vol. Fire Dept.
