Irvine Chandler, 92, of 207 South 10th Ave. Burwell, Nebraska, formerly of Forest Street in Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Elizabeth Wedekind with home he made his home.
Irvine was born in Roulette, Pennsylvania on April 20, 1921, a son of the late Margie and Fred Chandler. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in WW II. where he served in the European Theatre. Irvine was a member of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Warren and was retired from his employment at Marlin Rockwell in Jamestown, NY. He was also a self employed farmer for many years.
Irvine was the widower of Cecile (Arnold ) Chandler who preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 2005.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharron (Bernie) Switzer, of Warren; a son Ronald (Diane) Chandler, of Golden Valley, AZ; a daughter Elizabeth (Mark) Wedekind, of Burwell, NE; and a daughter Nancy Magee, of Warren, Pa. 11 grandchildren, Rose, Becky, Ronald, Jr., Rachel, Michelle, Amber, Katharyn, Travis, Charity, Ashley, and Faith and 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, 2 sisters and a grandaughter, Crystal.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 69 pm. at McKinney Funeral Homes in Sugar Grove where a funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 7th, with Rev. William Sarber of Cooperstown, Pa. officiating. A graveside service will follow in Lottsville Cemetery.
