Marion Albert “BRIG” Schweigart, 64, passed away July 18, 2013 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Brig was born February 10, 1949 in Coudersport, PA to the late George E. and Geraldine M. Weeks Schweigart.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 17 years, Brenda L. Schweigart, Warren; 5 stepchildren, Heidi (Rick) Christensen, Warren, Cindy Zaffino, Warren, Ralph (Butch) Lord Jr, St. Louis MO, Michael (Annemarie) Lord, Marysville, OH, Alisa (Daniel) Knowlton, Warren; a daughter, Molly Foster, Westfield, PA; 2 brothers, George “Sam” (Charlotte) Schweigart, Mills, PA, Thomas Perkins, Wilmington, NC; 2 sisters, Jacqueline Dawn Schweigart, Shippensburg, PA, Willa Perkins, Elm City, NC; a stepbrother, George (Catherine) Schweigart, Woodhall, NY, 3 stepsisters Deborah (William) Elliot, Genesee, PA, Victoria (Jerry) McCullen, Westfield, PA, Susan (Philip) Newton, Renovo, PA, and many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Frank Perkins.

He spent most of his later life in the Warren area and was formerly of Potter County, PA. “Brig” served in both the US Army and US Marine Corps and took great pride in serving his country. He worked as an industrial Xray technician out of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 2, St. Louis. However, his greatest passion in life was fishing. He held a professional bass angler’s membership, made his own fishing lures, and fished in tournaments throughout PA, NY, and Canada.

“Brig” was a strong man with a gentle heart. Family, friends and fishing were his greatest sources of enjoyment. He will be missed dearly by his family and everyone who had the opportunity to meet and get to know him.

A memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
