Mr. Datus L. Lacy, 77, of Sheffield, passed into the next life at 3:25pm, Friday, July 19, 2013, in the Blair Hospice Home. He was born October 24, 1935 in Warren to the late Datus L. and Helen Mays Lacy, Sr.
A lifelong area resident, DL retired from Sylvania after 40 years of service and worked in his own machine shop in Sheffield. He was drafted twice and served in the Army during the Kore-an Conflict. He enjoyed working in the machine shop, but his great love was traveling in his motor home.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law Karen Hul-ings, Warren; a grand-daughter, Brie Reitz, War-ren; 2 grandsons Gregg and Mike Hulings, Warren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Datus was preceded in death by his wife Joanne Spence Lacy whom he mar-ried in Kane, August 31, 1974; step-son Gary Hul-ings; three sisters Audrey Bleech, Lenore Tuller, and Lileth Johnson.
A funeral and committal service will be held Tues-day, July 23, 2013 at 11:30 am in the Borden-Lloyd Funeral Home with Re-verend Marcuss Briggs, Chaplain Warren General Hospital, officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the ser-vice. Burial will follow in Sheffield Cemetery.
