Pat Shine Canoe/Kayak Race on Saturday

The 3rd Annual Pat Shine Memorial Canoe and Kayak Race will be held Saturday in Warren. The event is presented by the Warren County YMCA and the Allegheny River Competitive Paddlers.

The adult registration fee is $15 if pre-registered or $20 the day of the event. The cost for youth paddlers (under 18) is $10 anytime. Pre-register at the Warren County YMCA, or the day of the event from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Kinzua Spillway. Races begin at 11 a.m. and racers get a free t-shirt and awards are given to first three finishers in each class.

The Allegheny River course begins by the Big Bend Access are (Kinzua Spillway) and finishes at the Betts Park boat launch and is approximately 10 miles in length. Straight through for all classes. No loops, no extra water release from the dam and flotation devices must be worn on Army Corps waterways.
