stewardship topic of program
Penn State Extension Equine Team is partnering with Warren County Extension to offer the Equine Environmental Stewardship program with hands-on experiences to assist horse owners in adopting environmentally sound farm management practices. The program will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Penn State Extension office, 100 Dillon Dr., Suite 101, Youngsville. Music in the Park

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will dance from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at the St. Marys Moose Club. The Culkar & Peters Band will provide music for all types of dancing. The public is invited. For information call John or Pat Moore at 837-9218.
Win at bridge
Winners in Monday evening duplicate bridge game at the YMCA were Mary Conarro and Joyce Davis, first with 41.5, and Hal Conarro and Doug Megill, and Pat and Lou Raub, tied for second with 36.
The John Gertsch and Marguerite Zobrist family reunion will be held Sunday, July 21, at Island Park, Youngsville, at Pavilion 2. Participants are invited to take waders, a swimsuit or fishing pole. Children are invited to bring outdoor sports equipment. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Take a dish to share, place settings, tablecloth and items for the raffle (only two items, one for adults, one for children, new or slightly used items). Meat, fruit and beverages will be provided. Take news of important events such as marriages, deaths, divorces, births, graduations, etc. and give to Viola Gertsch as you arrive.
The Sanford Homecoming will be held Sunday, July 28, at the picnic pavilion at Marcy White’s home at 3181 Sanford Rd. Bring a dish to share for a picnic lunch at 1 p.m. Table service and beverages will be furnished. Plan to meet and visit with old friends and families. Photo albums from past reunions and also old community pictures will be shared. The first Homecoming was in 1988 when they celebrated 150 years since Sanford was settled. This will be 175 years, so plan to come and have a great visit. We will move to the Sanford United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. for an “old fashioned” hymn sing.
Ice cream social
Akeley United Methodist Church will have an Ice Cream Social from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20, to benefit the children’s camping fund. Hot dogs, burgers and ice cream sundaes with lots of toppings will be served.
