Grand Valley Volunteer Fire Department will host a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday, July 19, at the fire hall. Cost will be $10 per couple, $ 7 per single. New York City theater tickets will be canceled if those who want to go on the Dec. 10-13 trip do not sign up prior to July 28. This trip will include one lunch, three dinners, two plays plus the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, a tour of NYC, hotel, bus and more. There will be a trip meeting on Wed. Aug. 7 at 3 p.m. in the craft room at the Allegheny Community Center to plan trips for 2014. This meeting is very important as it will determine where participants want to go. Information on several trips will be available, but if people do not attend there might not be any. AOC on the move
On Wednesday, July 17, Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. at the Jackson Run Bridge on the North Warren Bike Trail to do trim work. On Thursday, July 18, the AOC will ride bikes in the Frewsburg area. Participants will meet at the Jamestown Audubon Center at 5:30 p.m., ride to Frewsburg for ice cream then return to the center. For more information, call Pat Spicer at 757-8331, evenings.
On Sunday, July 21, the AOC will hike a 6.5-mile section of the North Country Trail beginning at Forest Road 116. Participants will meet at Howe’s True at 1:30 p.m. For more information, call Jim Houghtling at 723-1654.
