Foreign policy

Dear editor,

Pat Buchanan’s column of Wed. July 10 presents a most condensed course in U. S. foreign policy. With the exception of Israel, the CIA, and the ascendancy of Fidel Castro, it could serve as a complete history for our advance placement history students.

The constant meddling in others affairs is evident throughout. Significant clues to the reasons for 9/11 2001 are revealed as well “… we should keep our lamp burning brightly on the Western shore as a light to all nations,” as Henry Clay stated eons ago as well as Washington’s Farewell Address to our fledgling republic.
