Motorcycle run to raise colon cancer awareness

Family and friends of Sarah J. Morrison decided to raise awareness for colon cancer and colo/rectal cancer. Sarah was diagnosed with colo/rectal cancer in December of 2006 and fought a brave battle against the disease for almost two years. Sarah lost her fight in October of 2008.

The First Annual Sarah J. Morrison Memorial Colon Cancer Awareness Motorcycle Run in 2012 raised $1,000 for the Warren General Hospital Cancer Care Center, and got a leaf with Sarah’s name on it on the Tree of Life.

The Second Annual Sarah J. Morrison Memorial Colon Cancer Awareness Motorcycle Run will be held on Saturday, July 13. All proceeds from the motorcycle run will benefit the Warren General Hospital Cancer Care Center. This year the Morrison family has decided to dedicate the motorcycle run to Aaron Lee Fileger. Aaron also fought a brave battle with colon cancer and passed away in March of 2013. Both the Morrison and the Fileger families invite you to participate. Coordinators are hoping to get enough money to donate to get a leaf on the Tree of Life at the center in memory of Aaron Lee Fileger.

Registration will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at 300-302 Pennsylvania Ave. E., Warren (where the run also will end). Doantion will be $10 per person. Last bike out will be at 11:30 a.m.

Food will be provided for registered participants. Come join the fun, friends, and help support a great cause. Participants must be present to claim door prizes.

For more information, contact Kelley D. Morrison at (814) 779-1802. The run is in memory of her mother, Sarah J. Morrison, every year.
